I enjoy traveling and did two home stays in French speaking Canada. I also did a homestay in China, where I studied tai chi. My mother is British and my father is Polish. My family name "Sokol" is Polish for "falcon". I grew up in rural Canada with my two younger brothers, Keith and Kyle. My British Gran is 96 years old and still feisty. I have been married for 5 wonderful years. My husband is Japanese and works here in Tokyo, in fashion advertising design. I have been teaching in Japan for the past ten years. I have been teaching University for the past seven years, and this is my third year at TUJ. I have taught in Canada, China and Japan. In Canada, I worked as a figure skating coach for 10 years. I am also an artistic gymnastics coach. I was a competitive figure skater and gymnast in my youth. I have a 4-year honors degree in English Language & Literature, and a 2-year masters degree in International Education. In the future,I would like to do a PHD in Education.
