Overall Goal: 

Deriving from the fundamental concepts of education, linguistics, communication, and psychology, this course will cover the fundamental 5 W's (who, what, where, when, why), characterization, the Beginning/Middle/End of a story, composing, and publishing deriving from the topic of story writing.


Learning Objectives:

  • Students will name and describe the fundamental 5 W's (who, what, where, when, why) of a story. 
  • Student will be able to describe a character and its development through written text.
  • Students will discover how to express a story in clearer context, utilizing the concept of setting to add background information to a story.
  • Students will be able to recognize the structure of a plot, namely the beginning, middle, and end, when presented with a story.
  • Students will be able to construct their own plot structure (beginning, middle, end). 
  • Students will be able to conceptualize and compose their own short story.
  • Students will acquire the skill to publish their own story book (with the plot and pictures).
