Iain trained as a primary teacher at the Institute of Education and then taught in Bromley before moving into ITE at the University of Greenwich in 2007. He has taught ICT/Computing and Education & Professional Studies for the last 6 years on both the PGCE and BA programmes and leads the final year of the BA. In addition Iain is also an Associate Teaching Fellow at the University and Deputy Head of the Primary Education Department which was rated as 'Good' in the last Ofsted inspection.

Overview

This course will introduce you to the power of Scratch from MIT.  You may have a plan for the progression of control technology from Foundation Stage to KS2 (Bee-Bots to Lego), but with the new emphasis on computer science in KS3 and KS4 children will need to be able to move from the concrete to the abstract.
