This unit provides an overview of the evolution of critical care and describes current issues and trends affecting the critical care nurse and interdisciplinary team.  This lesson also serves as the framework for the remainder of the course in the areas of professional nurse decision-making, holistic care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.  An overview of principles and professional nursing ethics and legal considerations will be provided.
