MTCI offers a Facial/Skin Care Specialist course. The program objective is to prepare student for the workforce, on entry level, to work as a licensed Facial/Skin Care Specialist. Instruction is designed to qualify students for employment upon successfully obtaining a Facial Specialty Certification from the Florida Board of Cosmetology. This 12-week course will prepare students for employment as a Facial. Skin Care Specialist whose responsibilities may include:
Theory/Orientation, Law and Ethics, Role of Aesthetician/Facial Specialist
HIV/Blood borne pathogens
Facial Technique
Microdermabrasion
Extractions
Hair removal
Make-up application, body wrapping and paraffin
The Program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses the understanding and ability to demonstrate the elements of the Cosmetology industry of planning, management, finance, the technical and production skills underlying such technological principals such as : labor, community, health, safety and environmental issues.
