The Swedish Market Research Association (SMIF) is a Swedish not-for-profit association representing all aspects of the market insight and survey research industry, including social research, competitive intelligence, data mining, and knowledge management. Members include small to large research agencies and the data research services. The industry has a turnover of over 4 billion in Sweden.

 

SMIF's mission is to promote a positive environment that enhances the industry's ability to conduct affairs effectively and to the benefit of the public and members. SMIF achieves this mission through:

 

  • working for a unified ethics and quality
  • the continuous advancement of industry practices through education and accreditation; and
  • the on-going development and delivery of value added services to members
  • supports initiatives that help to ensure the industry's core competencies
