Online Course for interim and subtitute teachers from Flores, San José and Soriano.

Using updated reading materials, video segments, and community elements (like the forum), teachers will learn the essentials to help them succeed in their teaching. It also helps English language teachers to become more reflective about their practices. Practical examples throughout the course reflect a range of group ages and the current themes taught at high schools in Uruguay.

In this course you will:

English Language Teaching Essentials is an online teacher training course for secondary school teachers of English who want to develop their teaching skills without attending a face-to-face course. 


English Language Teaching Essentials is delivered via Eliademy (a web-based environment for delivering course content and managing students) and has three highly practical modules plus suggested reading materials and some videos showing the techniques being used.

The course takes approximately 60 hours to complete. This includes online work, where you have to complete tasks and discuss topics with other participants plus self-study. The self-study activities include assignments, lesson planning and reflection on your lessons. You’ll be assigned a tutor who’ll support you throughout your course.

The course certificate is issued to participants upon successful completion of assignments and cannot be obtained without active participation.






Planning: thematic unit planning and lesson planning.

This module provides the basis for planning and guidelines for "success by design".


Language activities for reading, writing, listening and speaking.

This module explores a variety of task types to develop different language skills.  


Vocabulary instruction.

This module looks at different approaches to develop learners’ language through a variety of techniques
