Hi there and welcome to this Breakthrough level Dutch course!
This course is intended for people who are new to learning languages, and don't have any experience with Dutch whatsoever.
The goal of this course is to get you up to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Refrence for Languages) level Breakthrough, or EU A1. Future courses will cover everything up to EU C2. The requirements (and thus the stuff you'll be learning) for the EU A1 level are:
The course is subdivided into Units. Every unit covers a piece of grammar, goes into themed vocabulary and ends with a speaking exersise (via google hangouts) with me, where you'll have to use a combination of the learned grammar and vocabulary. And the end of every unit there is a small grammar test and real world reading example.
I've had to learn many languages in school (up to 6 at a time), and understand the struggle of learning and becoming proficient in a new language. I have also had to deal with inefficient courses, like those trying to teach a language from the perspective of another language. Therefore, this course will be focussed around learning Dutch the way dutch people speak it, and not focussed on being able to say english phrases in dutch as fast as you can.
I hope you'll enjoy this course, and I wish you 'Veel succes!*'
*Dutch for 'good luck'
