In the Building a Meeting Hotel chapter we covered how to build standard room types. Hotel contracts often include more complex rate structures that require different set up options. This chapter covers the following:
- Variable Rates: rates that change per night over the course of the room block (common for Las Vegas events!)
- Period Pricing: rates that adjust over time during the show cycle. This most often applies to "Early Bird" rates, but can also be used for rate adjustments while the hotel is open for sale.
- Suites: these room types are specified in the contract or negotiated as needed during the show cycle and must be built to represent the proper inventory options.
