Overview

This is an on-line course developed for increasing the understanding and skills needed for effective leading of innovations in organisation. Tourism sector organisations are presented as a specific area with good-practice examples of well known leaders in this area.

Course target audience

The course is targeted for Leaders of Innovative Tourism Sector Organisations / Organisations that wish to be Innovative. Also for startups or persons, who wish to be innovative in job career.

Course can be used as a teachers’ classroom enrichment resource or can be studied independently by students.

Aim of the course

The aim of this course is to provide a critical exploration of the contemporary issues that impact upon the leadership for innovation in tourism sector organisation and to promote the development of innovative approach for leadership.

Course objectives

As a result of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Define the Innovation Leadership, key components and models.
  2. Identify Innovation Leadership trends in tourism sector organisation.
  3. Disclose characteristics and types of innovations and leadership.
  4. Connect innovation and leadership in organisation context as an innovation leader.
  5. Create and use a plan for your personal development as an innovation leader.

Course delivery methods

This course consists of 5 modules, each containing 3 to 5 lessons and a full module quiz or practical assignment. Some lessons present sources to external study resources, which should also be treated as learning material. In some cases a lesson might contain self-reflection questions, which will help you in the learning process.
