In the book of Romans the moral corruption of the whole world is demonstrated: the Gentile without the law and the Jew with his law are equally guilty and lost. Ephesians is addressed to the individual after he is saved. Chapter two shows the material out of which he was made before the grace of God took hold of him. The apostles, now begins exhortations regarding the discharge of relative duties. Rule number one, Christians owe one another mutual submission as members of the saved body. This is found in Ephesians 5:21. The same submission is required of husbands and wives.
