Nutrition and diet are hot topics in human and companion animal health, but with so much interest it can be difficult to find genuine and objective information.

The study of nutrition is vast and complex, with lots going on in research and development but also a lot of advertising and marketing tricks deceiving the consumer. This makes it difficult for pet owners to understand what exactly they are feeding their pets, and the effects this food may be having on their pet’s health and behaviour.

The Canine Nutrition course begins with a study of canine digestion and the way that nutrients are used by the body, and building on that, covering how foods are marketed and labelled and looking at the effects of nutrition on health and behaviour.
