The course will cover the introduction to business and financial management. Topics will focus on what business firms should do to achieve their financial goal. Likewise, the course will include discussion of the finance functions and its operating environment. Tools of financial analysis and planning, utilization and acquisition of funds are also discussed in the course.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. Enumerate and explain to students the finance functions and how each work and adds value to business.
2. Prepare the students obtain a practical understanding of short and long term financing. This entails application and analysis of capital budgeting, short and long term debt necessary to solve business problems related to financial management decision making.
3. Provide the students an in-depth discussion of business risk through the application of different business strategies/combination to identify its strengths and weakness to overcome business failure.
