Blank Page to Book is an eight week workshop for helping to build an idea for a novel to write for NaNoWrimo and beyond.
For this workshop, everyone will prepare to write their own 50,000-word (or longer) novel first drafts in November. This is challenging, but completely doable--even if you have four jobs or absolutely no novel-writing experience. We all will be working toward the same goal and supporting one another, we do ask that you only enroll if you're serious about planning your novel.
What you will need
Notebook / Computer File (somewhere you can write and keep track of your writing)
Openness to critiques, Willingness to share, able to give constructive criticism
30 minutes to an hour a week for homework
There are tasks (homework) that we ask you to complete. This is for your benefit towards building a more well rounded story for NaNo. Whether you have an idea well thought out or no clue at all. They will be graded either Pass or Fail. A Fail will be issued if not turned in on time, Pass if you have turned them in on time.
We'll also have a discussion every week. These discussions have two goals--(1) to help build a sense of community and (2) to help you work out points of confusion about your novel.
This is not a graded class but you will receive a certificate upon completion of this course.
