Frequently Asked Questions

What is Algebra?

Algebra is a form of math in which variables are used to replace numbers. We use equations, systems, and graphs to try to figure out what number(s) a variable represents or what pattern comes next in an equation. Once you get the gist of it, it really is quite fun!

What topics will we cover?

Basic algebra will be covered. Majority of it will be variables, systems, graphs, and a basic introduction to imaginary numbers. This is NOT equivalent to a standard Algebra I course, though I do recommend it be taken, as it may help you out.

When will I ever need Algebra in real life?

Many times! For example, let's say you want to purchase a new car, but don't have enough money at the moment. You may use a formula to find out how much money you need to save a month for a certain number of months.

Will there be assignments?

Obviously! You cannot learn math without practice, practice, practice. Ever heard the term, practice makes perfect?
