Overview

This unit describes the legal responsibilities of organisations and individuals that provide sport and exercise activities, or sports events for others, including local authority leisure centres, private health and sports clubs, national governing bodies, clubs and societies. It highlights Key legislative and legal factors that apply to health and safety that apply to health and safety in sport and the need for risk assessments to be undertaken before all sporting activities and events. Once you have developed your knowledge of the key factors that influence health and safety, you will learn how to conduct risk assessments, how to maintain, manage and reduce risks to acceptable level and how to plan a safe sporting activity.
