Whether your organization is large or small, attracting every potential customer is essential to your business. Improving

  • Your services for customers with disabilities can help you
  • Increase your customer base and your bottom line.

Being accessible to customers with disabilities isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s also the law.

Through the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, the province is becoming more accessible for people with disabilities. Under the act, accessibility standards are being developed. These are the rules that Ontario businesses and organizations must follow to break down barriers for people with disabilities.

Ontario’s first standard under the act — customer service — is now law. This standard applies to all businesses and organizations that provide goods or services and have at least one employee. Under this standard, businesses must train staff about serving customers with disabilities. This training must be provided to everyone who:

  • Deals with members of the public or other third parties (e.g., business clients); and
  • Develops customer service policies.

This training will help you better serve customers with disabilities. It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Enjoy the course!
