Jennifer Nix

Jennifer Nix has taught English Language Arts in the public school system for nearly 20 years, both in California and New Mexico. She completed her BA in English at Southern Oregon University and her MA in English at NMSU, and she received her teaching certification in California through Chapman University. She is highly qualified in the areas of secondary English, Business Administration, and has her license in Gifted Education. Mrs. Nix has also worked in the private sector with Kaplan University, writing and editing ELA remediation textbooks and pacing guides for California, Texas, Georgia, New York, and North Carolina. Currently, Mrs Nix teaches English 111 at Arrowhead Early College High School/Medical Academy and is also the Gifted Facilitator there for 9th grade. She lives in Las Cruces, NM with her husband, two dogs, and three cats.

Welcome to the 9th grade Arrowhead Park Early College/Medical Academy AES website. The objective of this course is to give our  AES students a place to gather information about stress management, college course management, test strategies, as well as provide information about academic competitions, scholarship opportunities, college & career readiness, and general high school survival strategies. We will meet monthly on campus during lunch for more structured, one-on-one interactions, but all information will likewise be posted here.  Below is my contact information and office hours; please feel free to text or email me anytime, or drop by my office when you need help or support.
